[Talk with Q + A]
with Special Guest
JULIA GORTON

Photographer, designer, illustrator and legendary zinester Julia Gorton (@Julia_Gorton_NoWave | JuliaGorton.com) is our special guest this year.  Her iconic photographs and zines serve as documents of her days as a downtown girl during NYC's No Wave scene in the late '70s, early '80s.

Gorton turned her skills as photographer and visual director of the DIY punk, fanzine Beat It! into a lifelong creative career working on various publications (National Lampoon, Cond
é Nast, etc.) and eventually becoming Director of Graphic Design and Printmaking at Parsons School of Design, where she has been faculty for almost 20 years.

Gorton's work continues to be exhibited all over the world.

ALL WEEKEND
 Make-your-own Zine (All Ages)

Throughout the weekend we will have zine making stations where you can grab a drink, sit down, relax and create!

Learn how to turn a single piece of paper into an 8-page zine. Fill your zine with anything you want to share - write, draw, collage, color or just share information.  The possibilities are endless!

[Workshop] Make-your-own Stamp
with Kitsch Collins

Picture
Come empty-handed and leave with a functioning rubber stamp for decorating and personalizing labels, gifts, and stationery. Participants will be familiarized with the materials used in hand-carving a design into rubber and view a demonstration lead by Kitsch Collins (@kitschcollins | KitschCollins.com).

Using either instructor-suggested images or a design of their own creation, participants will carve their own rubber stamp to take home and put to use!
